Dan has been bootfitting at Larry's since 2016. Prior to that he bootfit at Neptune Mountaineering from 2012-2016. He's an avid alpine, backcountry and nordic skier and has been skiing since age three. He attended the Green Mountain Valley School ski racing academy in Vermont, skied for the CU Alpine Development Ski Team and raced mountain bikes for two decades. He raced for the CU Nordic Development Team while earning his Master's Degree and continues to nordic ski race today. Along with his wife and co-owner of the shop Elaine he's competed in and won his category in the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse and Expedition Amundsen ski race in Norway. He's hiked the Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Canada, traversed Alaska's Brooks Range from the Canadian border to the Bering Sea and skied across the Greenland icecap. Prior to working at Larry's, Dan worked for the International Mountain Bicycling Association, was an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School, a manager at Neptune Mountaineering and worked in numerous jobs in the ski industry. His first ever job was hand-cutting ski trails at Mad River Glen ski area with a scythe. He is currently the head coach of the Nederland High School Nordic Ski Team. He was raised in Warren, Vermont, lives in Eldora, Colorado and skis just about everyday before work.
